Now that my recap is out of the way, I've had a chance to read other people's thoughts on the finale ... Not surprisingly, it looks like there are two extremes: those who really loved it, and those who hated it to the point of burning their disc sets ... I've also gotten asked a lot of questions regarding my thoughts on the island, so I figured I'd post some additional thoughts here ... The way I see it, the island is what you make of it ... Do I think it's real? Yes ... But in a sense, it's
THINGS I NOTICED - THE END ... There are no words, really ... Nothing I can say here will compare to the thoughts, feelings, and rush of emotions I'm sure everyone is going through right now ... For us the ride has finally ended ... The lap bar has come up ... There's nothing left to do now but stagger away from LOST's roller coaster, move forward, and try to burn the amazing image of this six-year ride into our hearts and minds forever ... Also, for the first time in a while, there was a solid balance between on and off island ... maybe because the alternate timeline scenes were totally excellent this week ... Things I Noticed: ...
Oh Lost, how you wound me. You tear out my heart and strap it to some C-4, leaving it inside a sinking submarine ... Even now, hours after my initial viewing, I'm still in shock, and more than a little depressed. Just Sayid dying would have been a tragedy in and of itself, without the even sadder Jin and Sun exit to top it off. Throw in Frank's demise (yes? maybe? too soon to call?), and I just can't take it ... Still, I have to hand it to the writers. They sure know how to make me
Here is Sean Furfaro's Recap of Tonight's Episode ... Breathe in ... breathe out ... breathe in ... breathe out. No, I'm not singing Mat Kearney, and no, I'm not just making a predictable joke considering that the last third of this episode essentially took place underwater ... I'm just catching my own breath ... As I sit down to write this recap not even 10 minutes from the closing credits of "The Candidate", I'm still trying to make sense of it ... I'll do my best ... I used a hockey analogy
